Alpine flora

On steep meadows, in mountain forests and wetlands, on alpine pastures and in barren rocky landscapes, the great variety of mountain flowers shows itself in all its beauty. The Alpine spring shows this particularly impressively with large, colourful carpets of flowers. In high summer, even at high altitudes, small, tough mountain flowers bloom in the barren, Alpine landscape. Around Gimmelwald you can marvel at rare orchids, lily plants such as the Turk's League, various gentians, and with a bit of luck, those who go to high altitudes will also find the edelweiss.

In the picture gallery you can see a small selection of this great variety.
