Sagifest: Every two years, the old water-powered sawmill in Sefinental hosts a Sagifest with show sawing and a festival restaurant. From 10 am to approx. 6 pm

Allmendhubel-Chilbi: Traditional folklore music and yodelling, food and get-together on the Allmendhubel, in front of the wonderful mountain panorama. From 11 am to around 5 pm

In Mürren in the sports center: Food & Traditional folklore music on the Swiss National Day.

Dorffest Mürren: Festival, music and flea market on Saturday and Sunday with the traditional parade through the village on Sunday.

Inferno Triathlon: single athletes, couples and teams compete in the infernal triathlon with start in Thun and finish on the Schilthorn (or Muerren). On the same day the Inferno Half Marathon from Lauterbrunnen to the Schilthorn will take place. On the Friday before the race there will be a mini version of the triathlon for all age groups in Muerren.

Around mid September 2026

Cattle coming down from the alps in Mürren, Lauterbrunnen, and Wengen: The cows and herders, who have spent the entire summer on the alpine pastures, return to the valley. A beautiful tradition featuring the decorated animals. The dates of the alpine cattle drives are set at short notice for each alp and depend on the weather and the amount of forage available on the alpine pastures.

Cheese market Stechelberg: From 10.00 a.m. on the parking lot of the Schilthorn cable car station in Stechelberg.
Sale of alpine cheese from the various alps in the Lauterbrunnen Valley. With food, drinks and Swiss folklore musik.

27th september 2026

Dividing of the alp cheese at Winteregg: From 11.00 a.m. at the Winteregg station of the Lauterbrunnen-Mürren mountain railroad.
The annual customs of the Staubbach alp cheese dairy in Winteregg. The cheese produced on the alp during the summer is distributed to the farmers who have brought their cows to the alp for the summer. With folk music and a stall selling alp products.

12th december 2026

Gimmelwald Tourism invites the population and all guests to an Advent aperitif in the garden of Olle & Maria’s B&B. Additional Advent window receptions will take place at Esther’s Guesthouse, the Mountain Hostel, and the Pension Gimmelwald.

Gimmelwald Trophy: the traditional curling tournament sponsored by Gimmelwald Tourism. Time: all day. Location: on the ice rink in Mürren.

Inferno races: from Wednesday to Saturday the traditional Inferno ski races take place. The descent from Schilthorn to Lauterbrunnen on Saturday is 14.9 km long and also includes uphill passages. With 1850 participants, the Inferno downhill is the largest amateur ski race in the world.

Whitestyle Open: the weekend of the freestylers. On Saturday there will be a Big Air event in Mürren village and on Sunday there will be a Slopestyle Contest in the Mürren-Schilthorn ski area.
